Cross Country
The Cam Two and a Half Cross Country for Grades 3 to 6 will again be run jointly with Cooee Primary on Wednesday 15th September and will commence first thing in the morning at 9.15am. In the event of poor weather, it will be postponed until Wednesday 22nd September. The event will be held at school and the children will have the choice of entering:
- the medal event (this involves two laps of the course, double points for the school house, participation certificate, first to fourth placegetters certificate and will be in the running for the overall medallion)
- or the fun run event (this involves one lap of the course, participation certificate and single house points).
The Somerset Primary Cross Country for Grades Kinder to 2 will be held on the same day commencing after recess at 11.30 am and run on the school oval and surrounds.
As this is a school house competition all children participating will earn points for their house.
Cross country running is challenging, and the children will be encouraged to complete the course to the best of their ability. For this reason, all participants will receive a certificate of participation for completing the course.
Could parents pack a complete change of clothes including underwear and shoes for your child as some parts of the course will be wet under foot.
On the day of the cam two and a half we do require at least four parents to man checkpoints around the course (a WWVP card is required), could you please leave your name at the office, if you can assist.
This year parents will be able to attend the cross country, however, Covid 19 protocols will be in place. This includes:
- maintaining physical distancing
- parents/carers remaining in designated spectator areas
- signing in with the check in TAS app or sign in page, which will be placed outside for your convenience.
