Swimming Report by Grade 6 Newsletter Editors
From August 16th- 27th, Grades 3 to 6 went to the Burnie Aquatic Centre for school swimming.
In those two weeks students worked on different strokes and learned new things. A couple of times students were faced with different circumstances, for example not using goggles in the warmup because if you were stranded at sea you would mostly likely not have goggles on.
We went to interview some people about school swimming and this is what they said about the experience:
My favourite day of swimming was the last day because we got to learn water safety and hop in the boat. Something that I want to improve on is everything because no one is perfect, not even Olympic swimmers. My least favorited day was Monday week 1 when we were getting split into groups. Koby
My favourite day was Friday in the second week where we did our five-minute sequence and jumped in with our clothes on. I want to improve on my side stroke. Ella
My favourite part of swimming was the diving, I love diving. I learnt breaststroke and side stroke and it was fun. Mace
My favourite part was when we learnt breaststroke, it is my favourite stroke and I really enjoyed it. I learned how to swim with clothes on and it was fun. Freya
Overall, the two weeks were really enjoyable for everyone that went. Everyone came back with a smile on there face and learnt something new.
