Physical Education Term 2

In week six of term two, I finally made it back to work, following my accident. It was great to be back with the kids and to get back into what I love.

The primary children have been working on a unit, aiming to develop their level of agility, reaction time and success with dodging.

The early childhood children have focused on developing / refining their level of skill, which contributes to their ability to participate in physical activity, competently and confidently. We started with bean bags and this will then progress to basketballs then tennis balls next term.

The manipulative skills of throwing, catching, striking, rolling, fielding, and dribbling, both with their hands and feet will be practiced.

Week six of this term, the school’s cross-country team travelled to Ulverstone to compete in the North West Primary Schools Sports Association event. The team were an absolute delight to supervise, with everyone supporting team members in their respective races, taking themselves out of their comfort zone to tackle this event and the behaviour was exemplary while waiting in the grandstand. Miller Beamish and Toby Jones won their races while Chet Beamish, Tahlia Broomhall, Bailey Norton, Sophi Ellis, Jonty Drew, Ella Moore and Nate Stewart all had personal best results.
